This industrial PLC controller is based on the Allen Bradley SLC500 with multi-channel analog and digital inputs/outputs and can be used to demonstrate single or multi-loop control. Serial communications is incorporated.
Based on the widely used Honeywell UDC3000 Series controller, this industrial PID controller has facilities for both voltage and current inputs and outputs, thermocouple input, alarm and relay outputs and serial communications.
This new trainer is a miniature version of an industrial plate-heat exchanger with multiple control inputs and measurement outputs. An electrical console provides measurement and control of the process plant and allows connection to external controllers or a PC. A variety of control techniques can be demonstrated, ranging from manual operation and on-off control to the latest SCADA techniques employing PC based serial communications for distributed control.
This provides a cost-effective way of teaching a wide range of process control techniques in a simple basic unit including temperature measurement and flow control. More sophisticated aspects of process control can be addressed by adding optional extras to the basic system. The PCT40 is computer controlled with optional manual control available using the PCT43 console.
The PCT43 is an electronic console that can be used to control the PCT40 (and PCT41 Process Vessel Accessory/PCT42 pH Sensor Accessory) instead of a computer.
